BIO
Trained as a classical violinist, Cedar grew up playing fiddle music as well and has explored a variety of traditional styles including Irish, Quebecois, New England, and American Old-Time. With spirited, rhythmic playing and clear tone, they have become a renowned contra dance fiddler, and have toured across North America with Nor’easter, Maivish, Cloud Ten, and others. Along with dances, Cedar plays for weddings, parties, house concerts, and more, and can often be found at traditional Irish sessions near their home in southern Vermont.

THUNDERWING
Thunderwing is Cedar Stanistreet on fiddle, Benjamin Foss on fiddle, banjo, and guitar, and Amy Englesberg on piano and accordion. Together they draw upon their wide-ranging musical experiences to create their own kind of party within the New England contra dance tradition. Their electrifying energy will leave you soaring and stomping in delight!
SYCAMORE
Featuring Cedar Stanistreet (Nor’easter, Cloud Ten) on fiddle, Max Newman (The Stringrays, Nor’easter) on guitar, and Samuel Foucher (Spintuition) on accordion, Sycamore draws from a variety of styles to create a fun dance groove. From driving old-time reels to silky smooth waltzes, they have music for every occasion.
DAWN CHORUS
Dawn Chorus is Grace Hendrickson-Jones on flute (Les Quatre Patates, Modern Birds), Cedar Stanistreet on fiddle (Nor’easter, Cloud Ten), and one of a few different guitarists, including Rosie O’Neil (Marie the Band, Dream Goats), or Eric McDonald (Cantrip, Kalos). With musical backgrounds ranging from Irish, Americana Folk, and Old-time to Classical, together they create a delightful mix of tunes that sends dancers sailing around the hall.
